The first annual Ventura County Sheriff’s Foundation Barbeque took place at the Bob Jones Strawberry Ranch on April 23, 2017. The event, attended by more than 400 people, was a smashing success. A gourmet barbeque was conducted by Scofield Catering which included smoked pork belly, kobe beef tri tip, fresh crab and shrimp, smoked corn, salads, fruit and root beer floats. Wine was donated by Opolo Winery and microbrews were supplied by Institution Ale Company, The Dudes Brewing Company, Enegren Brewing Company and Westlake Brewing Company.
The Department had a variety of resources on display including a helicopter, Search and Rescue team representatives along with their equipment, the Bomb Squad and Swat Team members. The attendees had a great time interacting with departmental representatives who attended. The event was supported by the Explorers from Headquarters and volunteers from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Foundation Board and Ambassadors.
The proceeds were raised to benefit a wide variety of programs supported by the Foundation which provide critical support to the mission of the Department. A warm thank you is extended to everyone who sponsored and participated in this event. A special thank you to Glenn Grossman and David Alpern for capturing the event – enjoy the pictures!
